Supporting doctors in Ukraine with the arrival of a surgical table
We are making a difference for doctors on the frontlines of the war in Ukraine with the arrival of a surgical table at the Mechnikov Hospital in Dnipro.
This equipment will make a difference to the civilians and those fighting near Dnipro, the largest city close to the action in eastern Ukraine.
This project began September 2022 as part of the Songs of Hope fundraiser which also provided $8,000 for HPI (Health Partners International) to send medications valued at $80,000 to Ukraine.
With the support of many other clubs we were able to raise additional funds required for the surgical table project for a total value of $45,000.
While there were some challenges, including transferring funds and getting the surgical table into the war-torn country, the persistence and resourcefulness of Rotarians in both countries prevailed to make a difference.
